Hey Everybody,
I have been living in Lake Arrowhead for 17yrs now and have been
riding most of time through the years. But I wanted to tell you
a little story about the struggles i had with my son in organized
sports. We had him baseball and soccer for 5 years and like most
they lose interest. So I bought him a MTB Bike to see how he
would do. At first it was very difficult for him because everything
up here is hills. So after a couple of months I decided to take
him to Rim Nordic which one of the race course's up here to get
more single track experience, mind you this a extremely difficult
course for adults. My son which is 12 absolutely hated the climb,
so we would go as far as we could then turn around and come back
down the single track. When we got down this time he was all
smiles and said that coming down was the greatest fun he had.
I told
him that to be a good rider you have to experience what it takes
to climb to these spots to enjoy the ride down. This inspired
him so much that we went back 2 days later to try again and we
made it to the top! We took a little break and headed down the
rest of the course and to my surprise stopping a few times to
see how he was doing, he was still all smiles. We finished the
course that day and have since been back many times now.
I wanted
to share this experience to others fathers not to be afraid to
take them on single tracks trails, he has now found a sport that
has rewarded him for his personal efforts and now a great riding
partner for me.
I started
this company for my son because for years when he could not go
with us on rides, he would always say to me. " You going
Big Ringing"
So if your
up this way and need to some riding partners let us know.
